Audrey Tautou

Audrey Tautou is the youngest of four kids born August 9th, 1976 in Beaumont Puy of Domme. Her parents, who were a dentist and a school teacher, supported and encouraged her early love for drama and theatre. She initially hoped to become a master monkey was replaced by a desire to study theater and drama. Her meteoric rise as an actor in the young age was quick and marked by early success. Following her studies in 1998 she participated in a French program for scouting talent on TV called Jeunes Premiers that was supported by Canal+ and won Best Young Actress at the Beziers Festival of Young Actors prior to beginning her acting career in earnest. Tautou was a student at her school at the Institut Catholique de Paris in Paris as a child and was a student there from the age of a child she has since renounced her Catholic childhood. She now declares herself to be non-Catholic. Neben her acting, Tautou took up modeling and was the spokesperson of L'Oreal Mont Blanc as well as Chanel. An avid photographer, she has recently exhibited at the Arles International Festival that was titled Superficial. The focus of her photography is celebrities, fame and the press that scrutinised her following her fame-making debut as Amelie. There are also numerous photographs of herself. Audrey Tautou rose to fame and acclaim with her big role in Le Fabuleux Destin d'Amelie Poulain. Amelie achieved international success in the field of box office, and also won numerous awards across the globe. It's also the biggest French language film to ever be released in the US. Following this success Tautou starred in numerous films from British dramas like Stephen Knight's Dirty Pretty Things to Jean-Pierre Jeunet's Un long dimanche of fiancailles. She then moved to Hollywood through Ron Howard's direction of The Da Vinci Code, a Dan Brown bestseller The Da Vinci Code alongside Tom Hanks.
