Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford has been an American actress, dancer and performer since the beginning of the 1990s. Her early performances on Broadway include the Musicals Wicked Legally Blonde and Hair. She received the Tony Award for Best Featured actress in a Play for playing Essie Carmichael from You Can't Take It With You. Annaleigh Ashford, a Tony Award-winning actor and director has spent most of her career working with famous directors and actors both on stage and screen. Ashford can be seen next as a co-star with Kumail Nanjiani in Robert Siegel's Hulu exclusive Welcome to Chippendales. It premieres on the 22nd of November. Ashford is in the production of Searchlight Pictures' terror thriller Dust which also features Sarah Paulson. The film will be available on Disney's DTC platforms as a Hulu Original. Ashford, who will appear as Josh Groban on Broadway's Lunt-Fontanne Theatre for the upcoming March 2023 production of Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd. Thomas Kail (director) and Jeffrey Seller (producer), the same duo who produced Hamilton is directing the show. Ashford was most recently seen as Paula Jones in Ryan Murphy FX series American Crime Story Impeachment. The series is based on the National Crisis, which saw Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky Linda Tripp in the middle of the nation's first impeachment proceedings over 100 Years. Two seasons ago, Ashford was a star of the hit show on CBS called B Positive. Created by Marco Pennette and Chuck Lorre the show also starred famous performers Linda Lavin Hector Elizondo and Ben Vereen.No stranger to Broadway Ashford has won Tony Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle Awards for her role as Essie as Essie in You Can't Take It with You. Sunday in the Park with George Wicked legally blonde and the character that was originally played by Lauren of Kinky Boots were among her other Broadway roles. Ashford divides her time between Los Angeles & New York. Her birthplace was in Denver and grew up there.
